Wildflowers

"The Earth Laughs In Flowers -Ralph Waldo Emerson"
Wildflowers are by far my most favorite thing to photograph and picking 20 for this months photo gallery was not an easy task!
Did you know that over 90% of the plant kingdom produces flowers?
They've been valued by humans for thousands of years providing us with food, medicine, pleasure, and scent. They offer us color, texture, and biodiversity to our gardens.
Studies show that flowers have the power to lift your mood, decrease depression, help connect people and increase feelings of kindness and compassion (something our world could use a bit more today).
Flowers play a very important part in the survival of our planet’s pollinators, animals and humans offering ALL of us a food source.
They provide food and shelter too many organisms, and help signal migration patterns in birds, insects and even fish.
Did you know that most of the food that humans, insects and animals eat, comes from angiosperms or plants that make flowers?
Because of flowers we have fruits, vegetables and grains in fact… 1 in 3 bites of the food we eat is made possible due to the work of flowers and pollinators? So, next time you take a bit out of your food you might want to thank both the flowers and the pollinators!
Flowers are beautiful, complex and extraordinarily important to all life on earth. When you have a chance please take the time to look up close with a magnifying glass and you'll notice some pretty sexy things flowers offer to attract pollinators and reproduce for the next generation!
Enjoy!
